Shock Searchlight is a very small software application for dimming all the desktop areas that are not active.
The main purposes of this useful program are:
1.- For desktop systems, the program action produces the dimming of the not active areas of the screen, keeping all the 'light' and brightness only on the active program window, making it easier to work for long periods of time, since it reduces eye fatigue, and time in front of the monitor screen becomes less tiring. User performance is better and the visual sense is more comfortable.
2.- For laptops, it is a very significant method of saving power. The screen desktop gets all dimmed except for the active application window in use, so power consumption is reduced since only active parts of the screen monitor are fully brilliant and colorful, and not many pixels are powered (bright, color, contrast). For laptop users the eye fatigue reduction is also important and advantageous.
On application windows that show images when user clicks on them, only the new window stays with brightness and the initial window gets also dimmed. When coming back to it, it recovers the original 'light'.
